Innovation PEI on behalf of The Atlantic Provincial Seafood Trade Group (APSTG) and ACOA is recruiting export-ready seafood companies who are interested in developing the Asian market to join the Atlantic Canada Export Cafe Series Mission to Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam),  Jakarta (Indonesia) and Taipei (Taiwan), February 17 – 24, 2020.
Mission activities:
Vietnam, Taiwan and Indonesia are currently Atlantic Canada’s 5th, 6th, and 7th most important seafood markets in Asia. The principal activities covered by this project in each 3 cities include the following:
  1. Market Access Seminars – delivered by Trade Commissioners and In-Market Consultants;
  2. Export Cafe – using seafood from Atlantic Canada;
  3. B2B Matchmaking – with professional buyers who have been pre-screened by In-Market Consultants and Trade Commissioners.

Canada’s First Women-Only Business Trade Mission

The APF Canada is pleased to announce that it will lead, with strong support from the private and public sectors, Canada’s first women-only business mission to South Korea, February 27-29, 2020. The three-day mission will be hosted in venues of partner organizations in Seoul and possibly one other location outside of Seoul. Events will include business-to-business matching and networking opportunities, industry site visits, and bilateral discussions of women’s economic advancement strategies featuring high-level business and thought leaders from Canada and South Korea.

Alan Archibald has held a series of senior leadership positions in various facets of the food Industry. Prior to establishing BusDev Analytics, Inc., he was CEO of Lochiel Enterprises Ltd. and guided St. Mary’s River Smokehouses for 12 years until its sale to Cooke Seafood in late 2017. St Mary’s was Atlantic Canada’s largest Atlantic salmon smoking operation focused on the grocery segment. As a leading private label manufacturer of smoked seafood items for Loblaws, Sobeys and Metro, it was a leading co-packer in the seafood category for much of its 20-year existence.

Norm Purdy has over 20 years’ experience in senior sales and marketing roles with national and multinational CPG (consumer packaged goods) and industrial firms. He has delivered dozens of training workshop in lean, six sigma and led the commercial excellence program at JD Irving Ltd.. Prior to founding PCX Advisors, Mr. Purdy led the sales and marketing organization at Crosby’s Molasses Company as Vice President.


Attendees from the two workshops will be brought together for a networking lunch, panel of co-packing success stories, and short presentations by organizations that can support your Food & Beverage sector company. Space for one-on-one meetings will be reserved.

Our 4 day Craft Distilling workshop features distillers from Rig Hand Distillery sharing their expertise creating premium quality spirits.

About this Event

The Craft Distilling workshop will help companies expand their knowledge and expertise with various distilled products and techniques. Distillers from Rig Hand will be instructing the course including Geoff Stewart, President and Head Distiller. Rig Hand Distillery produces award-winning craft spirits, including Gin, Cream Liqueurs, and infused Vodkas.

This comprehensive course covers the basics of fermentation and distilling, craft production, classifications, infusions, filtering, licensing & regulations, safety, and master techniques. Participants will gain hands-on experience in the pilot plant— learning how to create and test unique, high quality distilled products.
