Graduate Mentorship Program
The Graduate Mentorship Program encourages employers in Prince Edward Island to hire and provide a post-secondary graduate with a valuable work experience and mentorship opportunity in their field of study.

Call for Applications

Innovation PEI is inviting submissions to the following programs in support of its commitment to advance innovation and growth in the strategic sectors of bioscience (including agriculture and fisheries), information and communications technology, aerospace, manufacturing and professional services.

Pilot and Discovery Fund
The Pilot and Discovery Fund supports early stage, proof-of-concept projects that will lead to the development of new products, services or processes in the strategic sectors. The Pilot and Discovery Fund will provide grants of up to $25,000 (or 50% of eligible expenses) associated with testing an innovation-based idea.

Graduate Student and Post-Doctoral Fellowship
The Innovation PEI Graduate and Post-Doctoral Fellowship program is designed to support and develop highly skilled researchers’ in the strategic sectors. This support allows them to gain research experience on industry relevant projects while undertaking their graduate or post-doctoral programs.

Development and Commercialization Fund
The Development and Commercialization Fund will support Island-based businesses and researchers that have completed the prototype and pilot stage, have tested and developed a product and are prepared to move toward manufacturing or commercial scale production. The Development and Commercialization Fund will contribute a maximum of $100,000 (or 50% of eligible expenses) towards the completion of approved projects.

IT Professional Development Training

The Innovation and Technology Association of PEI (ITAP), with funding support from the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) and Innovation PEI, is launching the delivery of the 3rd round of professional development training workshops to small and medium-sized business enterprises within the IT Sector of Prince Edward Island.

June 24-26 - ITIL v3 Foundation Certificate (includes exam) - 3 days $810

Workforce Development Fund enables Employees to Develop Workplace Skills

Workforce Development Fund
The Workforce Development Fund enables businesses the opportunity to have their employees receive training in the workplace in order to increase their skills. The program includes three distinct modules for potential support, including Workforce Learning, Workforce Innovation and Workforce Exposure. This program is administered by SkillsPEI.

Eligibility Information
To be eligible for participation in the Workforce Development Fund organizations must:

be a business, industry association or sector council operating in Prince Edward Island;
propose activities that support the objectives of the Workforce Development Fund and have defined start and finish dates;
other criteria and restrictions may apply.
Priority will be given to proposals that invest in new skills, improved productivity and competitiveness, as well as introduce new business practices required in a knowledge-based economy.
