LaunchPad PEI was created to support eligible start-up companies or established companies from other jurisdictions that seek to set-up operations in Prince Edward Island. These companies must be building innovative products or services for the export market.
The goal of LaunchPad PEI is to improve new business success rates by offsetting operating costs of business and providing ongoing business counseling and other services that these new businesses need. LaunchPad PEI operates in each county; with spaces at the Holman Centre in Summerside and the Atlantic Technology Centre in Charlottetown and the Montague Business Development Centre. Other locations can be utilized as needed.
Eligible applicants must demonstrate potential to create new jobs and wealth in the Province of Prince Edward Island, are working on a product with export potential, have market pull or interest and founders with the ability to reach these markets. Other eligibility criteria may apply.
Innovation PEI works in collaboration with Finance PEI, traditional financial institutions and other government agencies to identify available financial tools to help you start up, expand and enhance your business.
Finance PEI works with innovative and generally higher risk projects than that of the conventional lenders. By using a non-formula approach to lending, Finance PEI strives to maximize development opportunities for the province while balancing financial risk of the project with potential economic return.
